Testimonials

"Steve has been a very patient and encouraging instructor with our 13-year-old son Diego. He makes the lessons structured and fun, which keeps our son attentive and interested. Steve is enthusiastic about drumming, which he relays during his lessons."
--Laura and Christine, Columbia, MD

Jack at ten"Steve Parezo has been instructing our 10-year-old son Jack for over a year now and I cannot believe the progress our son has made.

Steve ensures that our son not only gains the underlying technical skills but also introduces him to a variety of rock n roll styles.   Our son now has an entire playlist of songs that he can perform and I can easily envision him performing in a school band in the future.

Our son also has a developmental disorder that affects his fine and gross motor skills.   Drumming has been an excellent source of therapy for coordinating multiple limbs in an organized manner.  S teve has also shown tremendous patience and competence in working with children with disabilities.

Finally, Steve makes a working mom’s life much easier by coming to our home for lessons.  Our son receives instruction on his own drum kit and I get to catch up at home at the same time."
--Andrea W., Columbia, MD

Girls Rock!

DRUM SCHOOL offers drum lessons to kids of all ages, especially teenagers.  Recently a number of young ladies have decided to pursue lessons.  Jacquelyn S. of Severna Park, MD, contacted DRUM SCHOOL to inquire about lessons for her daughter Taylor.

Why did you decide to enroll your daughter at DRUM SCHOOL?

"I was impressed with Steve's experience, I liked that the lessons would be conducted at our home and Steve was very responsive," says Jacquelyn S. who checked out the DRUM SCHOOL website along Taylor.  "Steve responded to my inquiry right away.  He answered my questions and setting up Taylor's first lesson was simple.  He also emails me to confirm her lesson each week and if we have to cancel he is very flexible."

How would you gauge Taylor's progress so far?

"Taylor really enjoys her lessons," says Jacquelyn.  "She looks forward to them and she practices - which is a first for her.  I have noticed a big improvement in her skills.  I was listening to her lesson from another room and when I walked by, I was surprised to see that it was Taylor playing . . . I thought Steve was demonstrating something for her!"

What has Taylor's attitude been towards learning to play the drums?

"In the past, she has lost interest in various activities pretty quickly but that hasn't been the case with her drum lessons," says Jacquelyn.   "Steve picked up on her interest areas and tailored her lessons so that learning the skills was combined with the type of music she likes."

How did you find the process of Steve setting up the new drum set?

"Steve helped me select a new drum set for Taylor's 14th birthday," explains Jacquelyn. "I would never have known what to look for (and that most of the hardware isn't included in some sets). I ordered the set and Steve and Taylor put it together at her next lesson. She loves it!"

Would you recommend DRUM SCHOOL to other parents and their kids?

"Absolutely!  Steve is a skilled, patient teacher," adds Jacquelyn.   "He makes the lessons fun but productive."
