Setting Up Your Drum Set |
Learning how to play drums is only part of DRUM SCHOOL's mission.
As an added value, students are also taught how to take care
of their drums—from tuning techniques to maintenance.
Students are anxious to play their drum sets but don't know how to
set it up. In fact, the process can often be overwhelming for
both students and their parents.
Fortunately, Steve knows just what
to do and students are soon rolling away on their prized percussion
instrument. From putting on the drum heads, tuning up the lugs, adjusting
the height and angles of the tom-toms and cymbals to adjusting the
throne so students can better reach the kit, Steve does it all while
explaining what he's doing every step of the way. As a result, students
will know how to change and tune a head when the need arises or how
to adjust their toms or stands to improve their approach to the set.

Taylor's New Drums |
|
Taylor, 14, of Severna Park, had been Steve's student for several months when her parents decided to suprise her with a brand new set of drums for her birthday.
Naturally, Steve was in on the gig, having advised her parents on what kit was right for her at her current skill level with room for progression.
At her next lesson, Steve helped set up the Ludwig kit so that Taylor could start rocking her new drums right from the start.
